Product Q&A 6-7 pm Thursday 20th February

@JonnyE we are planning to bring gifting gold, business accounts, and kids accounts. The biggest focus right now, however, is on mechanisms that support acquisition and security as previously mentioned. Please please please continue submitting feature ideas though. These don’t fall on deaf ears, we just have prioritise accordingly.

Savings accounts as well are going to be an important thing for us.

Yes absolutely. I didn’t mention as it’s plastered across the website that these are coming soon  but yes, as @ralphhazell says. Savings safes that sit within the existing product UX is very much on the agenda.

for clarity in rural areas bank branches are quite a travel these days mobile post offices are now common and most convenient so to be able to deposit money easy and quick is key but you don’t want to have to open a starling account first to get to tally or you might just think starling will do :man_shrugging:

Yea I do appreciate the conversations, 100 tally is easily seen in term of gramms when working out transactions. But as with anything else, unless the item is priced in tally, satoshi, euro,or whatever, the amount paid in the secondary currency is always going to be a calculator job, that’s why it was and is important to show it in tally and fiat, that 90 tally changes by the minute.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. We understand that depositing cash is important for some people in rural areas. We will have another look into this at a later stage.

That’s true but we don’t expect too many high street shops to be labelling prices in Tally for a little while yet (although there are some marketing opportunities and partnerships that may open the door on that). What’s important we believe, is that wherever you are in the world, you see underneath your Tally balance, the local fiat equivalent so that you know if you’ve got enough in your Tally banking account to pay for the item you’re considering buying.

or pesky cheques :joy:

I’m totally in with tally and the whole gold backed currency… I’ve been into gold for many years.

I love the app or will do with more features and I love the idea of being able to spend gold when I decide to based on the info in the app (currently not available) but in will never use it as a primary account as there are times it does t make sense to spend gold.

That doesn’t mean I do love the whole concept, I just will always have it as a companion account to a fiat one… unless we return to a gold standard :joy:

Starling is a fiat bank, same as all the rest… just having one of those will never do

That’s great JonnyE, we welcome having you in the Tally ecosystem, and are happy you use it in the best way that suits you!

Just curious about the savings feature. Does it mean a lower monthly fee in return for locking some tally away for a fixed period?

It could do, it depends on future products that we develop. initially it is to help customers with their budgeting and saving.

This is something we are working on. Yes, we hope to reduce monthly fees as starter.

That ties into another thing I was thinking about, maybe it would be useful to have a feature where you could simply enter the amount of a given currency and it shows you the current conversion… like a dummy buy, so you know exactly, quickly and easily how many tally before you make the purchase or transfer

The recent app release has some features on making it easier to work out how much £/Tally you are sending. This is something we will do more work on.
