Kris, any idea when this login issue will be fixed? its been 11 days since it was first mentioned on here but nothing has been done.
@JonnyE The team are investigating this and once they have located the cause of why this is happening it will be fixed.
Yup same here. Updated app but while it’s a different message it’s still broken. Before it was these
Now it’s this
Still “forgets” you every time it’s opened needing the whole rigamarole of entering number, getting the code etc
Working fine for me now.
Apologies I wont be able to join the meet up later, wife is unfortunately not well and have kids to look after
What phone and OS version you using @Carolwhiteshusband ?
Apple iOS using v5.2.0 of the app
AHH. iPhone does seem to be their focus at Tally. Noticed that a long time ago.
These logon issues seem to be more on the android side of things. it’s getting a bit silly how it’s still not been fixed though.
It really is incredibly annoying having to go through the whole process each time you want to look in the app
@b1gdeano @JonnyE can you both provide the version of the app you have on the phones, please?
The app is built the same for both Android and iOS, no preference is taken. The difference is the amount of variation on the Android side could be causing an issue.
Version 5.2.0.617 -v0
Deleted the app and reinstalled to see if it was the same version, sms blah blah again to get in to new download, kicked me out before I could see the version number, back through the sms blah blah again and it is the same version on the new download.
Which version of android on which device have you tested and found it to be working?
I’m on android 14
Same app version here as JonnyE
Also android 14 with latest September security update
@JonnyE @b1gdeano Thank you for sending this over.
The Android version I tested is 11 and iOS 17 but the team do the newer versions. I will pass this on to the team to see if we can recreate the issues on these versions.
Kris, android 11 is 4 years out of date
Yes, but we test all versions we support and Android 11 is one of them. As I said the team do the newer versions.
Just to add the app now doesn’t even let me swap between apps before it says session unavailable and asks me to go through the whole process of logging in again.
Can’t say if it was doing this before, but it’s doing it now. Just tried to flip between apps and I was logged out to go through it all again. It’s incredibly annoying Kris.
Ok. So it’s definitely new. Screen just went to sleep while I was using the app after logging in, again, so opened the screen and instantly back to going through the initial process once more. This seriously needs looking at now.
@b1gdeano thanks for sharing this information. I have passed this on to the team to investigate in more detail.
Kris, who is this team you mention?
I’m really struggling to get my head around what is going on there. Surely one of the most basic functions of an app is the ability to be able to seamlessly use it. We’ve had this login/security issue for nearly four weeks now and this team haven’t been able to fix it, even though they are the ones that broke it. Surely they can just roll back to an earlier version of these files of code to before they broke it.
Is this ‘team’ in house and employed or are they just part time contractors? Why can’t they fix their own mistakes? Why aren’t they being replaced with more competent people?
This is a banking app that should be triple checked for errors yet it never is. Now there’s talk of it being listed on some random market with little trading volume, is this because tally are too embarrassed by the state of the app and don’t want too many potential investors trying it out.
If a plumber couldn’t fix a pipe they broke, they would be replaced by someone who knew what they are doing, yet this bank account just seems to allow the water to pour out while the plumber just puts on a pair of wellies and moves on to something else to practice on.
It’s embarrassing and is destroying trust, confidence and faith in the whole project. You’ll lose customers way faster than you gained them if this shambles carries on much longer.
